Leiden, May 9th, 2011 - As a result of last year’s acquisition of Finnzymes by Thermo Fisher Scientific, there continues to be some confusion as to which life science companies have the rights to manufacture and sell Phusion® DNA Polymerase.
New England Biolabs is currently supplying and will continue to supply Phusion High-Fidelity DNA Polymerase, both as a stand-alone enzyme with accompanying buffer, and in a number of master mix formulations. NEB will also supply the Phusion Hot Start Flex DNA Polymerase as stand-alone enzyme and in master mix formulation. NEB will also include Phusion DNA polymerase in various kits, including the NEBNext™ range of products.
It is important to note that the Phusion High-Fidelity DNA Polymerase products available from NEB, all have new catalog numbers. This reflects the fact that they are now manufactured by NEB. However, other than this, they are the same products, produced from the same biological starting materials and to the same specifications as the Finnzymes/Thermo Scientific products.
